Memories

As I sit here holding you

I remember another baby blue

As I sit here tickling you

I remember another giggle

As I look back on those days

I remember the deep, un-ending grief

As I flip through picture books

I’m surprised at what I forgot

Those days are not all that define me

Those days are not my whole life

With each passing day and hour

My grief morphs with each breath

My grief is not the oppression it once was

Now it’s a vague murmur in the background

Which leaps up from time to time

To remind me that one or two are missing

I have my joy back

I have my peace back

My arms are not empty anymore

Truely, God is good

In times bad

and

In times good

3In30

3in30 Challenge

In order to meet my 2012 goals, (read here for those!), I’ve decided to join Megan and Ashley over at 3 in 30 Challenge! Simple concept, really and I love simple! You pick 3 things to accomplish in 30 days. Just three. See. Simple. Then they’ve invited others to blog about their success and progress!

My picks to WORK on are:

 Blog/write more frequently

Organize our home so that everything has a place

Work on loving Christs way, starting at home with my family

I can’t wait to share how I’ve been doing, so check back! 🙂

Rose Bowl & Rose Parade!

Who are you voting for?

I don’t have a preference, as I don’t follow the teams like my Dad did, and my husband does.

But I’ll have a team before it’s over.

I LOVE the Rose Bowl and the Rose Parade, to me, it’s 100% better than Macy’s Thanksgiving parade.

The floats are amazing, the bands are well trained/practiced.

The horses are cuter..well okay horses are always cute no matter the parade!

This will be the first year we don’t have my Dad around to watch both…I’m going to miss his commentary, which was always better than the ‘pros’, by the way. He was great at one liners and quips.

So, enjoy your 2nd day of 2012!!! What are you doing today?!

In His Hands,

Peggy

Welcome, 2012!!

The new year as rolled over, and as we change out our calenders, update our files and put away our party fun, I’m sure some of us are also reflecting.

Reflecting on last year, (which was just yesterday), reflecting on this year. Many of us make resolutions, and most of us has tossed them to the side before January is even over. So I challenge you, those of you who’ve made some promise to yourself, that this year…you’ll stick to at least one resolution. I’ve made plenty of them, but I’ll consider a success if just one lasts until December 31, 2012. I know I know…life gets in the way, right?  Well you bet it does, but we can still accomplish so much, when a mind is set to it. So get to settin!

I can’t wait to see what 2012 holds for my family and I. I ask you to join us on our journey, by following along via my blog, or facebook page. Both of which I aim to keep up with more often!

In His Hands,

Peggy

John 14:1-3

1 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

Happy Almost New Year

Today, we’re headed to see some good friends. I just wanted to wish everyone a safe and wonderful New Years Celebrations.

Give thanks with every breath

Hug those who mean something to you

Strive to make each day count in 2012

May God bless you and keep you in His hands.

In His Hands,

Peggy

I wasn’t going to…but here it is – 2012 Goals!

I wasn’t going to join the Goal club, but I in the end, couldn’t resist writing out a few of my 2012 goals.

In no particular order:

1. Blog/write more frequently

2. Be more active and become fit

3. Organize our home so that everything has a place

4. Make, follow and stick to a budget

5. Work on loving Christs way, starting at home with my family

6. Study my Bible daily

7. Make a dent in our debt

8. Making my Scentsy business pay for itself and then some

9. Keep up on Jeremiah’s scrapbook

10. Make great memories!

Some of those are frivolous, some are not. Every list should have some fun, frivolous type ‘To Dos’ on it!!!

What is on your list?!

In His Hands,

Peggy

PS. I thought of a few more!

Take more photographs

Take my camera with me everywhere

Make something from my pinterest weekly!

Things I’ve learned from 2011

The things I’ve learned from 2011, could also be said to have been learned from 2010. So here goes:

God is in control

I can handle a lot more than I thought…only because God is my strength

Family and true friends are priceless

Be thankful, even in grief

Sometimes, when confronted with a mirror, I’m surprised at what/who I’ve become

Having faith is an action, not a lofty thought

Life is way too short to hold grudges

Life is also too short to not forgive our ‘enemies’

All our best plans, pale in comparison to Gods perfect ones

Learning to let go takes more faith than holding on

What are somethings you’ve learned in 2011?! I’d love to know.

In His Hands,

Peggy
