3in30 Challenge

In order to meet my 2012 goals, (read here for those!), I’ve decided to join Megan and Ashley over at 3 in 30 Challenge! Simple concept, really and I love simple! You pick 3 things to accomplish in 30 days. Just three. See. Simple. Then they’ve invited others to blog about their success and progress!

My picks to WORK on are:

 Blog/write more frequently

Organize our home so that everything has a place

Work on loving Christs way, starting at home with my family

I can’t wait to share how I’ve been doing, so check back! 🙂

In His Hand,

Welcome, 2012!!

The new year as rolled over, and as we change out our calenders, update our files and put away our party fun, I’m sure some of us are also reflecting.

Reflecting on last year, (which was just yesterday), reflecting on this year. Many of us make resolutions, and most of us has tossed them to the side before January is even over. So I challenge you, those of you who’ve made some promise to yourself, that this year…you’ll stick to at least one resolution. I’ve made plenty of them, but I’ll consider a success if just one lasts until December 31, 2012. I know I know…life gets in the way, right?  Well you bet it does, but we can still accomplish so much, when a mind is set to it. So get to settin!

I can’t wait to see what 2012 holds for my family and I. I ask you to join us on our journey, by following along via my blog, or facebook page. Both of which I aim to keep up with more often!

In His Hands,

John 14:1-3

1 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

I wasn’t going to…but here it is – 2012 Goals!

I wasn’t going to join the Goal club, but I in the end, couldn’t resist writing out a few of my 2012 goals.

In no particular order:

1. Blog/write more frequently

2. Be more active and become fit

3. Organize our home so that everything has a place

4. Make, follow and stick to a budget

5. Work on loving Christs way, starting at home with my family

6. Study my Bible daily

7. Make a dent in our debt

8. Making my Scentsy business pay for itself and then some

9. Keep up on Jeremiah’s scrapbook

10. Make great memories!

Some of those are frivolous, some are not. Every list should have some fun, frivolous type ‘To Dos’ on it!!!

What is on your list?!

In His Hands,

PS. I thought of a few more!

Take more photographs

Take my camera with me everywhere

Make something from my pinterest weekly!

Cleaning, because I was completely, and utterly WIGGED out!

My house is small, and has very little storage and nothing outside for outside things. So that means…we have things that float around the house with no permanent home.  It adds to the clutter and messy look.

Which drives. Me. Nutts.

So, today…after reading a few blogs on organizing and de-cluttering, I was inspired to clean! To toss. To minimize! So here’s today’s tally from the cleaning results:

4 large bags of trash

No picture of this, I tossed them as we filled them!

2 bags to go to Goodwill

Main closet has room for guests coats, shoes and purses

No picture of this either!

Hall closet is now organized and child friendly (medications on upper shelves)

Bathroom organized

Kitchen organized (90%, still have 10% left)

I was thinking that I’m pretty darn smart, to use this tension rod to hold our paper towels, but I’m sure somewhere in the blogosphere, someone has thought of it!

I also need to get some fabric and make a curtain for the bookcase-turned-pantry.

After all of that work, we rested. And then I felt inspired to make something in my newly organized kitchen!

And a close up one, to make you drool!

I have NO idea what to call these…it’s Pillsbury Crescent rolls, with Andie’s Mints in the middle, rolled in cinnamon sugar and baked. It’s good stuff!!!!

So, that was our day! It’s good to purge, clean and put things in their place.

What do you need to do in your house? How do you get inventive with ways to clean, organize and such??

In His Hands,

Somewhere between dancing with baby, nearly falling off the couch, finding the biggest hair ball in the world, and finding the cat in the closet, the house is beginning to look better. 🙂

I really hadn’t planned on doing a lot today, I usually don’t anymore. Housewife fail #1.

I’m not really consistent at putting clothes away, after they’ve been washed. Housewife fail #2.

I have a hard time keep things in order, lets face it…we don’t have the proper storage. Housewife fail/excuse #3.

But today, I got motivation, inspiration and a virtual butt whooping from a friend.  You know who you are! Thank you!

I started out with moving some clothes around to the spare closet, to make more room for our general clothes. That’s where I found the cat, he’d been locked in one closet as the door shut on him.   That lead me to just start gathering clothes on the bed and hanging them up, and gleaning through them to toss the old, ratty, doesn’t fit me anymore variety.  That’s where I danced with baby, but maybe that should read, I woke baby up! 😉  That went out to the trash bin along with the actual trash from the kitchen, which lead to putting dishes away and cleaning the sink.

After resting for a bit, I decided to put some of the tools back in the closet so I could vacuum, and hang up some coats, as the tools were in front of the door. 😦  Well I knew the vacuum needed a once over, so I cleaned it. Including the filter, which I’d forgotten since Methuselah walked the earth, apparently. That’s when I found the giant hair ball from Mars. After dealing with that mess, I vacuumed. And fell back in love with my machine again! *hugs it tightly* No wonder it didn’t do it’s job, poor thing couldn’t breath!

Then of course after a break, I needed to put some new curtains up, since I’d found my Grandma’s curtains in amongst the clothes I’d hung up. So The older ones came down, and the new one went up. Cue almost falling off the couch, a few times!  Then…because I was up there, I took down the drapes. Finian’s hair was covering them in some areas. Those landed in the wash, which I’m currently waiting for, while I…you guessed it, Rested. 🙂

It seems that is my cleaning style. Start with one thing, and it just leads to more, and more. I need a timer next time.  Maybe it’ll help me stay focused better.

What is your cleaning style? Grazer, shock n awe, perfectionist, I’ll get to it tomorrow, What cleaning?

Oh and that housewife score is now Fail:3 Win: 4, 5, 6 something like that! 😉
